WELCOME TO THE MAINE POPS CONCERT BAND
“BUILDING COMMUNITY THROUGH MUSIC”
The Maine Pops Concert Band serves the greater Portland, Maine metropolitan area with one of the largest community bands in the state. The band normally rehearses every Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Scarborough High School band room, yielding to the school schedule when events are slated. The Maine Pops Concert Band continues limited recruitment of musicians in Maine and New Hampshire to join or rejoin the band, currently having over 100 musicians registered. No auditions are required, but the band is now concentrating on filling specific instrumental voids within sections. The band is actively seeking musicians for oboe, string bass, tenor saxophone, and percussion. Those interested in joining can go to The Band – Maine POPS Concert Band.
