Rehearsals for the Maine Pops Concert Band’s 2025 spring season are now wrapping up as the band prepares for its April 27 concert at Scarborough High School’s Winslow Homer Center for the Arts. Once that concert concludes, the Maine Pops will begin rehearsal sessions for its busy summer season, beginning its review of fall and spring literature on April 30.
The band will normally rehearse at Scarborough High School every Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
As always, there will be adjustments to the rehearsal schedule throughout the year as the local Scarborough schools conduct their own music and theater programs at the high school and middle school levels. The Maine Pops will take all steps necessary to coordinate alternate venues and inform the membership of rehearsal site changes in advance.
The Maine Pops Concert Band continues its recruitment of musicians in Maine and New Hampshire to join or rejoin the band. The band now has over 100 musicians registered. No auditions are required, but the band is now concentrating on filling specific instrumental voids within sections.
