  • The Maine Pops Concert Band’s 2025-2026 performance year kicked off June 25 with a public outdoor concert at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Kennebunk. It was the first of eight public and private performances by the full Maine Pops Concert Band during the summer. The band has ceased formal rehearsals for the summer, but will resume regular rehearsals again September 3.

The band normally rehearses at Scarborough High School every Wednesday evening from September to June during the school year from 7 to 9 p.m. As always, there will be adjustments to the rehearsal schedule as the local Scarborough schools conduct their own music and theater programs at the high school and middle school levels. The Maine Pops will take all steps necessary to coordinate alternate venues and inform the membership of rehearsal site changes in advance.

The Maine Pops Concert Band continues its recruitment of musicians in Maine and New Hampshire to join or rejoin the band. The band now has over 100 musicians registered. No auditions are required, but the band is now concentrating on filling specific instrumental voids within sections.
